Ms. Olajobi Makinwa is a senior official of the United Nations Global Compact Office where she has held the position of Chief, Africa, among others.
She has been leading the work of the UN Global Compact in Africa for the past 5 years. During the period, she organized and provided strategic direction for the development of the first UN Global Compact Africa Growth Strategy. The strategy gives guidance on engagement and growth of the UN Global Compact (UNGC) in the continent.
Olajobi Makinwa has also been responsible for building and maintaining strategic relations with the business sector, involving the largest international, continental and national companies involved in Africa. She built and managed relations with United Nations’ (UN) Agencies, Funds and Programmes, the African Union Commission, UN Economic Commission for Africa and other regional organizations. She has co-led the planning and execution of high-level meetings hosted by the UN Global Compact such as the 2013 Africa Private Sector Forum and other private-sector led meetings with specific focus on Africa and business.
