Kigali is the capital of Rwanda, roughly in the center of the country. It extends over many hills, ridges and valleys. The Kigali Genocide Memorial documents the 1994 mass murders in Rwanda, associated with the country's civil war. The town's Caplaki Crafts Village has stalls selling traditional handicrafts, including wood carvings and woven baskets.

Nationalities obtaining a free 90-day visa upon arrival: b> as a reciprocity to the citizens of Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, Ghana, Guinea, Indonesia, Haiti, Senegal, Seychelles, Sao and Principe . Exceptionally to the citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mauritius, Philippines, Singapore and East African Community Member States (Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, South Sudan).
Nationalities obtaining a 90-day visa upon arrival: b> citizens of the Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa who do not already have a free visa (Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Sudan, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe).
Special Passports: b> Holders of diplomatic passports or service passports from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guinea, India, Israel, Morocco and Turkey are exempt from visa requirements .
Rwandans with double nationality: b> Rwandans with dual nationality can enter Rwandan soil with their ID card.
Regular resident in Rwanda: b> foreigners residing in Rwanda and having a resident card can enter Rwandan soil with this document alone.
Nationalities obtaining a 30-day visa on arrival: b> Citizens of all other countries not previously mentioned obtain their 30-day visa upon arrival at Kigali airport.
TRAVEL DOCUMENT :
An applicant should have a valid passport or a different acceptable travel document. The document must be valid for at least 6 months on the day of entry into Rwanda.

An applicant must have sufficient funds to cover the costs of their stay in Rwanda. Evidence for such funds can be requested online, at the Rwandan foreign mission or at the port of entry. Extension of a visa for some classes: Some visa classes may be extended. Details are presented to the information for applicants for each class. The extension of a visa should be applied for while initial visas remain valid. A grace period of 5 days after a visa has expired is granted for a person to leave or replace their visa without penalty, otherwise the person will be subject to a penalty and may be refused an extension of visa.
