Africa Business & Social Responsibility Forum

Practicals Informations

Abidjan

Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire, is the country’s most populous city with nearly six million inhabitants. Located on the Gulf of Guinea and bisected by the Ébrié Lagoon, Abidjan is a major cultural and industrial center in West Africa.
Considered the cultural crossroads of West Africa, Abidjan has experienced uninterrupted growth, characterized by rapid industrialization and rampant urbanization. It is divided into two parts, themselves subdivided into several districts, each with its own distinct characteristics: the modern, more European-style neighborhoods of Le Plateau and Cocody, with their upscale villas and expansive gardens, while other districts, such as Marcory and Treichville, reflect the layout of traditional African cities. Abidjan also boasts the largest port in West Africa.
